Our proposal for the NOT A HOTEL 2026 Design Competition — House Among the Woods.
Conceived not as an object placed in the forest, but as a tree among trees, the house dissolves into its surroundings. Layered slabs and shifting gaps evoke the feeling of dwelling within a living trunk, where light, air, and views filter through like branches. At its heart lies a pool, water as the source of life and the project’s quiet core. Elevated lightly above the ground, the house minimizes its footprint while immersing its inhabitants in the forest and framing distant views toward the sea.
