TORF is an inter-scale design practice that brings design, research, prototyping and representation technologies into one production process.
What does the studio do?
Rather than assigning an idea to a single discipline, we focus on the layers it must pass through to become viable. Research findings can become software tools, product decisions can become spatial systems, and architectural experiences can generate new methods of representation and communication.
Research
We define the context, user and technical problem together.
Prototype
We test decisions early through software, models, interfaces or physical prototypes.
Realise
We carry the system into a product, publication, application or space.
